Wild Cards are actually players whose world ranking is not high enough to qualify for The Championships but who are accepted on the basis of their past performance at Wimbledon into the main Championship draw at the judgment of the Committee. Since 1977 Wild Cards have been allotted.

Till date the only Wild Card to win the Men’s Singles Title was Goran Ivanisevic in the year 2001. The Ladies Singles Title is yet to be won by any Wild Card.
